Eco-Conservation Hits Lingerie
Eco friendliness is taking huge leaps and jumps in modern society. Experts are touting “green weddings†using recycled and sustainable resources. Going one step further, they are recommending that hostesses who choose lingerie parties as a bridal shower theme suggest the guests purchase eco-friendly lingerie.
And you ask yourself, “what on earth is eco-friendly lingerie? Well in a sense it is lingerie made from the earth from natural materials that can be re-grown. Helping to protect the environment is not just about driving pollution free cars and recycling plastic bottles but, in a way, the move is taking us back to our roots and a simpler, healthier lifestyle coupled with cleaner living.
Examples of eco-friendly lingerie are t-shirts and pyjamas made out of cotton, soy based chemises, organic silk satin camisoles, hemp panties and colorful nighties using non-toxic dyes. Examples of online lingerie companies or designer collections who now sell “green lingerie†are Enamore Ltd, Belabumbum Lingerie & Maternity, Stella McCartney’s Lingerie Collection, Lotus Organics, Rawganique and Figleaves
And one of the funniest items that I saw while browsing solutions to our planet’s longevity problem was the bra that doubles as a shopping bag. Although this product was launched in Japan over a year ago, I wonder how popular or non-existent it really is. I am pro-planet but I cannot imagine using my expensive bra to carry my groceries even in the name of conservation!
