Christmas is right around the corner and if you are still looking for the perfect gift for that special girl in your life … I have some fantastic ideas for you.  Christmas lingerie is something that is not only sexy for you, but it is also something that women absolutely love to wear.  However, what style are you going to get?

When it comes to lingerie that is Christmas-themed, I can tell you that there are a ton of different styles out there for you to choose from.  However, you want to make sure that you find the right style to suit the woman in your life.

For example, this little number is just a small and short skirt with a bra that has some white trim on it.  This is good for the girl that wants to be sexy but not over the top.  More styles in the next blog!

Last but most definitely not least, we have to talk about size. Specifically, it is absolutely, positively vital that you make sure you are buying the right size of lingerie. That can mean finding out your wife or girlfriend’s exact measurements.

The easiest way for you to do this, since it would look suspicious if you show up with tailor’s measuring tape, is to simply take another peek in her dresser drawers. Find out the sizes of the lingerie in there — find out the sizes of all the different pieces you are thinking about getting her, because buying a teddy or something like that is much different from buying panties and bras as separates.

And guys, don’t get all mad if your girl does not like what you have bought. Odds are she will be touched even if she doesn’t particularly like it, but she isn’t going to try to hurt your feelings. So feel free to ask her what she doesn’t like about it, what might have been better — then you’ll know for next time!

Color is another important consideration when you are buying lingerie as a gift. I was doing some research for this particular series of posts and found a list of do’s and don’ts written by a guy. Actually, I found several, and a lot of them were very good, very spot on, but this one, among other awful pieces of advice, flat out told guys that they could only buy lingerie for their wives or girlfriends in either red, purple, or grey. I do not even own a pair of grey underwear, or a grey bra. Silver? Certainly, but not many.

No, guys, the truth of the matter is that you can buy your girl any color in the world — as long as she likes it, and it flatters her coloring. Does she love and look pretty in shell pink? Go for it. If she likes grey lingerie, that’s all well and good. If she likes red, or purple, then you’re in. But say you have a girl who doesn’t like the three colors my esteemed blogging colleague suggested?

Well, exactly. Women don’t fit into neat little categories, not even when it comes to the color of their lingerie.

First thing’s first, fellas. The best way to pick out lingerie for your lady is to see what she is wearing now. Here’s a tip, and please exclude the bluntness in advanced: if your wife or girlfriend doesn’t currently wear crotchless panties, then it’s more likely than not she is not going to be interested in lingerie like that, either. Similarly, if there are absolutely no thongs or g-strings in her lingerie drawer, she probably won’t like this. And contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t always have something to do with a woman’s figure. Full figured or slender, a lot of women simply find panties like that uncomfortable, so don’t force her into something she definitely won’t like.

Sometimes a pair of silk pajamas or a lovely chemise or camisole and boy shorts will look even better than an open bra and crotchless panties. In fact, this is more often the case. Remember, comfort has a lot to do with confidence, and confidence is far sexier than little wisps of uncomfortable lingerie.

Buying lingerie for the woman you love can be a pretty frightening experience for a guy. Women who buy lingerie for their wives and girlfriends may well have an easier time with it, so this series of posts is mainly for the boys.

Movies and television shows are full of the comically horrifying scenarios that often occur when a man buys lingerie for a woman the first time. But those aren’t true, right? Right! In real life, there’s definitely no laugh track, and the comedy factor is pretty thin. So, to make sure you don’t have to deal with the horror of the situation either, we are going to give you some tips from a woman’s point of view.

So men are definitely visual people – as I have mentioned in the earlier blogs but there are some things in the way of lingerie that they simply do not find arousing, which is somewhat the point of wearing lingerie.  One thing that is not appealing to most men is cotton lingerie.  You do not want to wear anything like this – in the picture to make your man aroused.  This is lingerie that is comfortable.

You also want to – as I mentioned, steer clear of blue and pinks – while both of those colors are great in bold and with black, you want to make sure that there is nothing babyish about them, as that is what can send a man running.

Lingerie is something that is very personal for every woman.  You need to find lingerie that is going to make you happy as well as your mate.  Remember that.

We have covered the bases of lingerie that men love but really – let’s talk about the fabric.  Satin, silk and anything that is shiny is sure to get your man revving up.  Lingerie is supposed to be sexy and these fabrics are actually the sexiest when they are formed into lingerie.

Whether you are wearing a satin or silk teddy or you are just wearing a corset – this type of lingerie will honestly make your man want you all that much more.  The bad thing about these fabrics is that they are very unforgiving.  If you are looking for lingerie that is going to hide unflattering things, this is not it.

Now that we have the colors down – two colors that you need to make sure that you stay away from is pink and blue.  Most of the time, hot pink with some black looks hot but soft pastel pinks and blues remind men of babies and that is not something that they want to think about when they are looking at their woman in lingerie.

However, texture is something that is very, very important to men.  Lace lingerie is something that men go absolutely wild for – take this beautiful piece.  Men love it because it is almost like a sneak peek of what they are going to get when the lingerie comes off.
